Makeup Lessons and Skincare Consultations in the DMV
A makeup lesson in the DMV is not a second event application. It is time to learn a look you can repeat—and a skincare-minded plan that does not fight your skin. Taylor Bailey Makeup Artist offers lessons and consultations on location or in Lorton for clients in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
Taylor is a licensed cosmetologist with a skin-focused approach. The goal is still you, enhanced: fewer products that actually work, not a 20-step kit you will abandon.
What a lesson covers
- Skin prep that matches your skin, not a generic “glow routine”
- A wearable everyday look, a soft-glam event look, or both
- Where to put coverage and where to leave skin
- Eyes that stay visible on hooded lids, if that is your shape
- What to keep for touch-ups and what to skip
You leave knowing the order of operations, not only how the finished face looked in the chair.
What a skincare consultation is for
- Makeup that pills, slides, or burns
- Sensitivity, dryness, or breakouts that show up before events
- Confusion about what to use the week of a wedding or headshot
- A simple prep plan before professional makeup
This is not a medical dermatology visit. It is practical guidance so application and wear get easier. Share products you already use and any diagnosed conditions or allergies.
Who books this
- Brides who want to understand their trial, not only wear it once
- Clients who have a gala or headshot and want a repeatable version at home
- Anyone who wears little makeup and wants a short, honest routine
- Parents booking a lesson before prom or senior portraits
Where lessons happen
On location at your home in DC, NoVA, or nearby Maryland, or in-studio in Lorton. Travel is quoted with the address. Plan about 60–90 minutes; longer if we are building two looks.
Pricing and availability
Lessons and consultations are quoted separately from wedding-day or gala applications. The rate reflects time, travel, and whether we are covering one look or a full everyday-plus-event session.
A deposit holds the date. Balance is due the day of the lesson. Reschedules need at least 48 hours’ notice.
Weekday appointments are often easier than peak gala and bridal Saturdays. Send two or three date options.
